Drive and guide installation support of new and existing hardware platforms and their operating environments to support ongoing business change and strategy. Advise and assist with the operation of Systems support/ Monitoring tools in order to maintain company systems. Provide, as part  of a rota, on-call production support for IT Operations infrastructure and services.

You will have a Computer Science/IT related university degree with at least 1 years experience working with clustering technologies (VCS or Solaris) and an effective understanding of RDBMS systems, Security and Networking. At least 3 years experience working with UNIX (linux and Solaris) operating environments – preferably in heterogeneous environments. Demonstrated tolerance to high workloads and multiple changing priorities and experience in database administration and reporting/application analysis. ITIL Foundation Certification.

Exposure to support and development methodologies for large RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL) would be useful and would exposure to project management methodologies and software. Also useful are exposure to SAN (EMC, HDS) technologies and support of same and exposure to and experience with Netbackup backup/recovery systems.

Excellent understanding of the design and build processes for web site development and games development, including search engine optimisation and multiple browser platforms. Strong technical understanding of email design requirements for multiple email packages. Strong Flash design skills, though Flash development code will be developed by Web Developers.

Contribute to the iterative improvement of the PMO processes, standards and methodologies through identifying opportunities/ideas to enhance same. Establish and maintain good supplier relations, where relevant, both internally and externally. Setup and administer the PMO resource tracking/management system software (Enterprise Project Manager – EPM). Collect and report on data – metrics – and (project) benefits for all projects run through the PMO. If/where required from time to time, provide temporary PM duties – for example, backfilling to cover a short term absence (illness, training, recreation leave etc). Assist with the training of new PMO staff to ensure that they are brought up to speed in the most expeditious and effective means available. Produce documentation/materials to facilitate this as appropriate. Assist in the development and application of project Change management. Assist with project kick-off and closure activities (briefings, roles and responsibilities, lessons learned etc).

Experience of working in a project environment, preferably within IT required. PRINCE2 (practitioner) certified and experienced (real world), broad (general) Project Management experience and experience working within a PMO environment. Superior MS Project skills and experience (“power user”). Enterprise Project Manager  (administration and user) experience          and PC skills including ability to use all packages related to Windows 2000/XP. An understanding of relevant administrative processes e.g. billing, expenses, invoicing. Experience of building successful working relationships with project teams. Online gaming (or OLTP-based) experience preferred. ITIL aware (certification preferred)
