Our client is searching for a Senior Insurance Administrator whose primary duties are as follows:
Client and broker relationship/servicing • Responsible for the delivery of a high quality service, ensuring that all client service standards and deadlines are met for the clients, and that all underwriting controls are followed. • Responsible for all day-to-day contact with major clients and brokers, loss adjusters and solicitors. Ensure all documentation, correspondence and telephone calls are dealt with effectively, efficiently, quickly and accurately. • Understanding simple accounting concepts and interface with accounting personnel. Underwriting • Understand the main classes of insurance and standard policy clauses • Understand complex and international insurance programmes, and the issues related to the writing of insurance on a Freedom of Services basis in the EEA and become conversant with the main local regulatory requirements (e.g. concerning terrorism, Natural Catastrophes, etc.). • Processing of insurance premiums and reinsurance recoveries. • Production/drafting of insurance and technical documentation for clients, including cover notes, policies, endorsements, reinsurance agreements, etc. • Consideration of current and existing client insurance programmes and development thereof. • Ability to apply underwriting controls in a strong and methodical manner Claims • Receive claims bordereaux, review and approve payments. • Maintain and interpret statistics in relation to claims. Internal/other • Preparation/drafting of regulatory licence application documentation for cells. • Achieve legal compliance in respect of all cells. • Maintain and develop knowledge of captive matters e.g. insurance best practice, laws and regulations, reinsurer security, taxation, accounting standards etc. • Interaction with various people in a professional manner. Primary relationships to be developed and maintained are as follows: Clients and client representatives Company Directors Reinsurance Companies/Brokers Gibraltar Financial Services Commission and other regulatory authorities • Assist with business development issues. Experience, education, attributes, typically: • Ideally the candidate should hold or be working forwards on A.C.I.I. qualification or the Captive Insurance Certificate and have at least three years general insurance experience. • Previous experience within the captive insurance industry would be beneficial but is not essential. • The job holder must: demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact with both colleagues and clients possess good time-management skills and the ability to work to deadlines be enthusiastic, self motivated and display initiative be focused on client service needs in order to achieve client service.
