Ramore Restaurants have existed for over 30 years in a small seaside town called Portrush, Co.Antrim, N.Ireland. Portrush is famous for its white sandy beaches, excellent golf courses and surfing competitions.
The complex entails 5 restaurants and 4 bars to include a traditional Irish bar, a Cocktail bar and Gin bar and is still owned and ran by the McAlpin Family. Our 5 restaurants (Mermaid, The Harbour Bistro, Neptune and Prawn, Coast and Ramore Wine bar) offer a mix of informal and fine dining options, and on average prepare 15,000 covers each week in what are known to be very busy restaurants. Our food is a blend of Northern Irish cuisine with global and seafood themes.
The Ramore Restaurant complex is well known and highly regarded in our home market and further afield with guests returning annually from USA, Europe, England and Scotland. Our fine dining restaurant is often chosen as a perfect venue for small weddings which can be catered for by the team of highly qualified chefs and service team.
All staff undergo rigorous training with chefs gaining exposure to all areas of the business and all types of food preparation and kitchen management tasks. We all work as a close team and support each other through busy times and use our quiet times to make improvements and trial new ideas.

The cost of living in N.Ireland is comparably low with rental costs being in or around £40 - £60 per week.

CHEF REQUIRED All levels
Our chefs work in a fast paced environment, producing excellent standards of food whilst ensuring adherence to food safety/hygiene regulations. They support their team and their head chef in ensuring that we continue provide an excellent service and standard to all visitors in our restaurants.
Experience isnt required, if youre willing to learn on the job wed love to hear from you.
Permanent position (30 45 hours per week).
Wage rate 18-20 yrs £5.60 per hour, 21-24 years £7.05 per hour, 25+ £7.50 per hour, remuneration is also reviewed in line with experience.
Following set recipes, ensuring measurements are accurate and within cost allowances
Preparation of vegetables, meat and desserts (or specialising in one)
Cooking food for service during busy times
Presenting food in its finest form for the enjoyment of our customers
Working closely with kitchen and service team to ensure food is prepared within tight timescales and delivered on time to customers
Review all cooking and preparation processes to improve our service and quality
Ensuring safe and practical storage of food items for different restaurants
Following safe hygiene protocols to ensure safe cooking temperatures are adhered to, hygiene rules are obeyed and health and safety processes followed.
Safe operation of food preparation equipment
Assisting others where additional help is required for bulk output
Cleaning and good housekeeping in kitchen area
Safe use of knives and storage of knives
Recording of all necessary information for safe food processes
Clean down of all equipment, work surfaces and floor area
Basic Food Hygiene desirable however we regularly run training
Good team work ethos
Attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Flexibility to move between restaurants where required
A basic level of English is required, you should be able to understand and speak basic English.
It is essential that you are able to demonstrate your eligibility to work in the UK.
