Senior Service Engineer OSS – GCH Ireland The Global Competence Hub (GCH) in Ireland has the mandate to support the under-resourced regions in service delivery and new engagements. This unit will also be a receiver of global competence assignments as well as supporting new product & service introduction. GCH Ireland will initially serve Region Sub-Saharan Africa (RSSA) but will expand over time to support all regions. GCH Ireland is looking for Senior Service Engineers for OSS to join its team based in Dublin. As a member of the GCH Ireland team you will be part of the service delivery team RAN supporting Region Sub Saharan Africa (RSSA). Description As a Senior Service Engineer in OSS, you will be responsible for the implementation and upgrading solutions. You will be working predominantly through the Establishment, Realisation & Handover phases of projects. You will be required to act as the technical lead for solutions, with a high level of Customer interaction and co-ordination with Product Development Units, Competence Centers and the Customer Technical and Marketing Teams. As technical lead you will be responsible to secure that the deliveries of solutions to customers are made in a professional way. This role will support projects throughout region RSSA and as such willingness to travel up to 90% of the time is a pre-requisite for this role. This is a highly visible and pro-active role requiring good inter-personal skills. It will demand constant interaction with Account Teams and the end customer, in order to understand the operator's business issues, and to be able to find opportunities for evolving our solutions, thereby creating new business. It also demands good networking capabilities. This role is likely to be suited to senior technical persons with end-to-end Technical knowledge of the OSS area, with demonstrable Communication and Consultative skills. Responsibilities: Manage customers' requirements and customer expectations from implementation through to the handover stages of the project Provide leadership for integration teams. Identify the impacts and risks as a result of the solution introduction, and recommendations on solution evolution Checking the quality of each integration project by performance of an audit Share and transfer knowledge, and mentor more junior members of the team Participate in customer workshops, provide solution and technical expertise and deliver solution presentations Identify add on sales opportunities via a close cooperation with the customer in the delivery project Interact with customer, 3rd Party suppliers, and other Service Delivery organization Qualifications You have the following: 1. Minimum of BE in Engineering or equivalent 2. Minimum of 5 years Telecom Experience and including at least 3 years in a customer facing role. 3. Very good knowledge of the OSS product portfolio. Excellent knowledge of OSS target environment (e.g. UNIX / NT, HP, Solaris, Linux, X86, EMC, middleware, components, hardware platforms. 5. Strong OSS integration experience and proven experience of troubleshooting in the above environments 6. Strong track record in engaging with customers and problem solving as needed 7. Broad telecoms and datacoms knowledge essential with experience on RAN systems such as LTE, WCDMA and GSM. Travel Commitment The role involves extensive travel up to 90% initially in Region Sub Saharan Africa with assignments lasting from 1 day to 3+ months. |
