Senior Customer Project Manager in OSS/BSS – GCH Ireland

The Global Competence Hub (GCH) in Ireland has the mandate to support the under-resourced regions in service delivery and new engagements. This unit will also be a receiver of global competence assignments as well as supporting new product & service introduction. GCH Ireland will initially serve Region Sub-Saharan Africa (RSSA) but will expand over time to support all regions.

GCH Ireland is looking to recruit Senior Customer Project Managers (CPM) with experience in OSS/BSS to join its team based in Dublin. As a member of the GCH Ireland team you will be part of the service delivery team OSS BSS supporting Region Sub Saharan Africa (RSSA).

Description

As a Senior Customer Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing major customer projects.

You will be working through all phases of projects from Presales through Establishment, Realisation & Handover.

You will have a high level of Customer interaction and co-ordination with Product Development Units, Competence Centers and 3PPs. As a Senior CPM you will be responsible to secure that projects are completed in a professional manner ensuring project deliverables achieved on time within budgeted cost.

This role will lead projects throughout region RSSA and as such willingness to travel up to 90% of the time is a pre-requisite for the role.

This is a senior role which is highly visible and pro-active requiring excellent inter-personal, leadership and communication skills. It will demand constant interaction with Account teams, delivery teams, 3PPs and the customer. This role is likely to be suited to CPMs with strong experience gained in OSS/BSS technologies.

Responsibilities:

Control of Communication Management within projects
Financial Management, control of project budget and project margin, ensuring correct setup at project initiation and strong management throughout lifecycle in accordance with PROPS.
Strong Leadership and influencing skills
Support in development of individuals and teams to benefit the organization and individual project member.
Effective Integration Management to ensure the interfaces to the project's internal and external stakeholders is integrated, co-ordinated and controlled.
Control of Risks and Opportunities Management through project lifecycle to manage unplanned events and ensure they do not jeopardize the successful completion of the project.
Effective Scope Control, project requirements identified, agreed and managed throughout the project delivery.
Development, maintenance and control of projects Lead Time and Time Schedule.
Directing effort to Value Management to ensure that the best value at the lowest project costs are achieved to optimal income during the life cycle of delivery.
Interact with customer, 3rd Party suppliers, and other Service Delivery organization

Qualifications

You have the following:

1. Minimum of BE in Engineering or equivalent, MBA an advantage.

2. PMP Certifed or equivalent

3. Minimum of 10 years Telecom Experience and including at least 7 years in a customer facing role

4. Very good knowledge of the OSS/BSS product portfolio

5. Proven track record of managing projects to time and cost

6. Excellent customer management abilities

7. Strong leadership capabilities with experience of managing diverse teams

8. International experience

9. Strong track record in engaging with customers and problem solving as needed

10. Broad telecoms and datacoms knowledge

Travel Commitment

The role involves extensive travel up to 90% initially in Region Sub Saharan Africa with assignments lasting from 1 day to 3+ months.
